Exploring Indy

We took our first trip to Indianapolis the Saturday before last. It's an easy hour from Muncie and a nice break from our small town.

On the way to Indy, we stopped in Anderson, an even smaller town than Muncie about 20 minutes away. I spotted a Waffle House! I am so excited about that. I haven't been to a waffle house in years and I thought they were farther south.

Indy has two awesome malls. Castleton Square is a very nice and very busy mall. They have stores I've never been too like H&M and Von Maur. We went to the Buckle so Julian could check out the store and say hello to their manager Benji. Julian and Benji bonded when they travelled to Nebraska together a few weeks ago (pics of that trip later...) While waiting around the girls showed me an Ed Hardy shirt that the Muncie store didn't have. I tried it on and without looking at the price, I handed it to Julian to buy for me. I was holding Andre and I felt something warm on my side. Pee. I went into the backroom and changed into my new shirt. (I didn't look at the tag until we got home...ouch, i'll be wearing this shirt everyday for the rest of my life!)

After Julian's hour long haircut, we went to the food court and play area. They have a Chick Fil A! I had heard about this addicting fried food indulgance. We found the nuggets to be pretty darn tasty.

On our way to the Fashion Mall we drove past a Don Pablos. This is the restaurant where Julian and I had our first date. We were so sad to see the Grand Rapids Don Pablos close. We definately want to go back for a date night!
From the outside, the Fashion Mall doesn't look like much. We saw Sak's Fifth Avenue so we stopped to park. Once inside, the mall seemed to go on and on. There was a big Sephora and MAC Cosmetics store.

At about 8:00 PM we heard there was a big storm headed our way. The line was along the highway back to Muncie. So we huried out of there as fast as we could.
My new shirt valued at a week's worth of groceries...

I am looking forward to going back to Indy. We had a great time despite my aching feet. Hopefully we can take the kids to the zoo.
