Watch out Muncie, Indiana, the Garcia's have arrived!!
We made it, safe and sound, despite the fact that it was Friday, the 13th and a stormy forcast through Southern Michigan and Indiana. 2 Minivans, 1 car, a 26' Ryder and 4 hours later...we were unloading at our new place!
By the grace of God, the transition has gone smoother than expected. Our apartment is roomy, cool and I now have the dishwasher i've been coveting for years. The boys have been enjoying the pool most days and I have been enjoying the treadmill at our gym. Bryce is a little confused. He thinks our apartment is called Indiana and wonders when we are going "home". We haven't found any friends for Eli to play with in our complex. A membership at our local YMCA may take care of his boredom. In August, when Football practice starts, Eli should meet some kids before school.
Julian is so happy that his family is finally here with him. It was difficult to be apart for six weeks. I don't want to ever do that again! I am so happy to be together, and feel a tremendous amount of peace.
This move would not have gone smoothly without the help of my thoughful and organized sister Chris, and her beefy, energizer-rabbit husband Scott! They were WONDERFUL! They helped us finish packing, load and unload the truck, and stayed an extra night to hang out with us. Who else would have driven four hours, each way, to help us move? We were very blessed to have their support.
